Quietly she laid in the steel cage; her yellow eyes looking at anyone who stopped in front of the door to inspect her.  Her red and white fur was unkept, but the white toe tufts stuck boldly out from her front paws. The cage was opened and as our volunteer gently reached in to pet her, the little red girl began to quietly purr.  

This red girl, known now as Mishee, was most likely injured from the engine of a car. Her lovely tail was mangled and gangrene had set in while waiting to be rescued and it had to be amputated.  Her hips were stripped of fur and flesh, the new growth will always be sparse; yet despite this, she remains calm and affectionate. Mishee, under the care of our volunteers, is ready to be adopted by a family of her own.
